What is your dream? What do you wish to accomplish in life? What is it that you are passionate about? These are some subtle clues to your assignment. Your passion could be to bake cookies, write poetry, design, draw, paint, sing, cook, dance or even speak words of encouragement….. The list is endless. There are those things that we are drawn towards and find ourselves naturally good at. You may not require any training, but find that your talent in that area makes things easier for you. We may also not recognize these natural abilities as gifts, whether big or small, and may overlook and take them for granted. Sometimes, we may even think that the little things we are good at may not benefit anyone. Hey, it could be that the cookies you bake for fun are exemplary and could earn you millions one day. It could be that your poetry could inspire critical thinking in many. It could be that your words of encouragement could uplift someone and catapult them into happier times. You may know how to bake well and even create new recipes and dismiss it as not something special, but there could be someone else who attempts following the simplest of recipes and it is just a disaster! Your cookies could put a smile on an unhappy person’s face, or be a gesture of affection to another that you care about them and add a little sweetness to their lives. But, here’s the funny bit. You wish and wish and wish for success, cry that nothing is working out while all you needed to do was simply develop what you are already good at and what you already have in order to attain what you wish. Do not dismiss what you have. Use your precious gift, develop it. You never know where it will lead you to.
