Only the return of warmer weather at the start of September imbued the vintage with a freshness of great Chardonnay in tune with the subtly restrained power of Pinot Noir and a soupçon of rounded Meunier – that final little touch making the wine more pleasurable to drink soon

It feels flatter and less vibrant that I would have hoped

and Mesnil

hints of candle wax emerging with time

lingering and mildly rustic finish where the only fault is a hint of warmth

There is a lovely sophistication to the mouth feel of the intensely mineral inflected medium bodied flavors that also possess wonderfully silky tannins though the natural firmness of a fine Fues makes its presence known on the gorgeously subtle and persistent finish.
