pencil on ruled paper

I'm not certain

Hands down my favorite transfer image I've ever seen on a piece of Staffordshire

it's pretty amazing  that a series of postal workers would see to it that a stamped shirt cuff with handwritten address would make it from New York to Philly - in the 1860s

The cards are in great shape but the box--which measures 3 3/4" wide x 1 3/4" deep x 2 1/2" tall--shows its age

SOLD Early 1850s Hand-drawn Ink and Watercolor Map of South America wood truck pencil on ruled paperI managed to find the published map this hand drawn one was based on, printed as a engraving in Samuel Augustus Mitchell's(1792 1868) Mitchell's School and Family Geography, 1839. Though interesting now to see Chili spelled with an "i" and Buenos Ayres as a country, etc., this hand drawn version is pretty true to the published one except a million times better for being hand done! Excellent hand lettering in a young hand all over, and wonderful
