Prince Edward, later King Edward VI Franz Xaver Habermann 'How Mordred plotted against Sir'Prince Edward, later King Edward VI', c1540, (1902). The son of Henry VIII and Jane Seymour, Edward VI (1537 1553) became king in 1547 when just 9 years old. His rule was characterised by harsh Protestant reform.
