Striking C. 1940s Century Micrograph of Algae Filaments, Signed Gene Gaines praying figures 8 7/8" t x 5I'm a sucker for a micrograph a photo shot through a microscope, looking like beautiful abstractions but also holding keys to the construction of the universe. I believe these are strands of algae, and that the photograph, signed on reverse, dates to the 1940s or so. 4 7 8" x 4 7 8". Silver gelatin print, matte paper, nice rich tonality, very good condition.
