I find it all immensely satisfying and have not tired of playing with it yet (and have spent a fair amount time turning that crank
with wear and some dryness/light cracking to the wood (which I have not touched)
And the black of his gown against the baby blue is pretty great too
so that it wants to be set near the edge of the table or shelf or pedestal such that the end of the tail almost grips the ledge like a hook
Overall very good condition with one water stain/run at upper left and light craquelure as evident
1931 Ink and Watercolor Seascape with Ships Signed C. Friburgh fabric covered book I find it all immenselyI have not been able to identify the C. Friburgh who signed this watercolor, which surprises me some, as it is very finely done. Photos don't give a great sense of the richness of the sea itself, which was painted with hundreds of fine brushstrokes in a range of blues and greens, which make it feel as if we're out in very deep waters witnessing the scene. And then these wispy white clouds popping against the tan board, which it feels as if the sails
